Custom flyscreen installation for a kitchen servery window on the Northern Beaches.
Peter had previously finished off this Warriewood customer’s servery window by installing a timber frame around it, creating a functional and aesthetic addition to their kitchen. Check out the photos here »
After several months of enjoying the servery window, the customers noticed that, without a flyscreen, they often kept it closed to avoid being inundated with flies during the day and mosquitoes at night. They contacted Peter to ask if he had a servery window flyscreen solution. He did!
After determing exactly what the customer’s wanted, Peter sourced a custom-made rollerblind-style flyscreen online. The flyscreen was custom made in white so it bleneded with the aluminium servery window and surrounding timber frame.
The best thing was it’s practicality. When not in use, it neatly rolls up into an unobtrusive cassette, similar to an automatic Holland blind. The customer can then pass food and drinks from the kitchen to the patio without obstruction. The detachable pull cord at the bottom makes raising and lowering the flyscreen a breeze.
Crafted from a lightweight and transparent fibreglass/PVC material, the flyscreen offers several benefits:
- Allows uninterrupted airflow and natural light to flow into the kitchen.
- Guests on the patio and those in the kitchen can easily see and communicate with each other.
- The flyscreen is simple to remove and dismantle, if needed.
Thanks to this custom-made flyscreen solution, the customers can now enjoy their servery window fully open without worrying about bugs, enhancing the usability of their kitchen and patio connection.
